Community Involvement

Noble proudly supports causes that matter to our local communities.

We strongly believe in our communities and work hard to support them through various initiatives. From food and toy drives, community volunteerism to fundraising efforts, our team plays an active role in supporting local issues.

Giving Back 2022

In December 2022, Noble supported local non-profit organizations during the holiday season.  Noble is proud to work with organizations like these to help make a difference in the communities where we work and live.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Grey Bruce is a mentorship organization that believes in investing in the power and potential of all youth. With both community-based and in-school programs, the organization ensures children and youth are supported to overcome adversities and increase resiliency across time.

Kingston Home Base Non-Profit Housing Inc

Kingston Home Base Non-Profit Housing Inc. is a non-profit organization that has provided a range of supportive housing in Kingston since 1987. Home Base Housing programs are open to single adults, families, youth, and members of marginalized groups with a range of life experiences and challenges.  These may include homelessness, financial issues, substance abuse, mental health issues, developmental disabilities, head injuries, or physical disabilities.

The Dam is partnering with youth to create an inclusive community where all are welcomed, valued and respected. Adolescence is a difficult time of life, and many young people seek an understanding of where they belong.  In The Dam, everyone finds belonging, a basic human need. From the safety of being part of something, they find connections to friends, values and their self-worth. It is then that they can grow, gain confidence and become leaders.

The Heart & Stroke Foundation

The Heart & Stroke Foundation is a leading funder of life-saving research. They empower Canadians to live healthier lives — from preventing and controlling high blood pressure to getting more physical activity. And they fight for change that will create better health for all.

Windsor Goodfellows

Windsor Goodfellows has been a cherished part of the Windsor community for 110 years. Supported entirely through donations and receiving no government grants, the Windsor Goodfellows provides thousands of area families with assistance and support throughout the year, including a food bank, school breakfast programs, children’s footwear program, and much more.

Giving Back 2021

In December 2021, Noble supported 4 local organizations with $15,000 donations during the holiday season.  Noble is proud to work with local organizations like these to help make a difference in our local communities.

Fife House provides secure and affordable supportive housing and support services to people living with HIV/AIDs.  The organization works to achieve social change through research and advocacy that addresses systemic oppression.

Inner City Outreach empowers at-risk inner-city residents and brings social and economic equality in Toronto’s inner-city communities, starting with the Jane and Finch neighbourhood.

New Visions Toronto is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping more than 56 children and young adults with complex physical and developmental disabilities. New Visions has 16 homes and provides 24-hour care. Each home provides support for 2 – 6 children and adults per home across the GTA.

The objective of Reaching Up is to promote educational excellence as the ultimate solution to overcoming poverty and violence in local communities.  The Homework Club and Music School are two key sections to the threefold program that is determined to sever the cords of hopelessness among families seeking enriched experiences for the children.

Holiday Giving Back Campaign 2020

Noble launched a 2020 Holiday Giving Back Campaign where team members were invited to nominate worthy organizations that support our local communities and/or were close to their hearts. Noble committed $50,000 to the campaign and selected 5 organizations to receive $10,000 each. Congratulations to our winning recipients!

Durham Outlook for the Needy provides nutritious daily meals in a dignified manner restaurant style. Having outgrown their current home at 51 King St. East in Oshawa, Durham Outlook will be moving to a new building at 227 Simcoe St. South in Oshawa. The new location will feature a larger dining room in order to feed the increasing number of patrons they are seeing year after year.

My Gut Feeling was nominated by Abigail Mejia, the newest member of Noble’s Marketing Team. My Gut Feeling – Stomach Cancer Foundation of Canada is the first non-profit organization in Canada dedicated to providing peer-to-peer support, education, awareness and advocacy to patients, survivors and caregivers as they go through their cancer journey. It was founded by two survivors, Teresa Tiano and Ekaterina Kosyachkova in 2016. The My Gut Feeling Foundation is volunteer-led and run. The programs include support groups, educational conferences, awareness events, advocacy and research. The aim of the organization is to ensure that no-one goes through this journey alone.

United Way Leeds & Grenville was nominated by our Brockville branch team and has been supporting the local community since 1957. They strive to be a critical community convenor that mobilizes local and national partners including business, not-for-profit organizations, labour, community leaders, and government and community residents to create opportunities for a better life for everyone in our communities.

New Visions Toronto was nominated by Thomas Budd, a 7+ year Noble Team Member working as a Jane St. Distribution Centre Driver. New Visions Toronto (NVT) is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides housing, care, and support for children, adolescents and adults with complex developmental and physical disabilities. They strive to deliver the best support possible in a home-like environment. Homes First 2020

Homes First has been providing supportive housing and shelter for more than 35 years with a focus on the chronically homeless. They were the first and remain one of the largest providers of homes for people with the fewest options in Toronto.

Noble teammates at our head office in Vaughan kicked off December 2020 by donating gifts to Homes First.  Gifts were filled with a combination of essential items, warm accessories, and goodies to help support residents through the holiday season and into the winter months.  We thank our teammates for their generosity as it will have a meaningful impact on our local community.

Project SHARE 2020

Project SHARE serves individuals living in poverty in the Niagara Falls community by addressing the short-term need for food and creating long-term solutions for food security, mobilizing resources in our community and adapting to respond to changes around us.

Noble’s Niagara Falls branch team and valued customers came together this past December to support Project Share.  Branch Manager Brian Pol launched the “Fill a Bag & Get Noble Swag” campaign that provided individuals with Noble branded swag for donations of food, toys and/or cash. One and a half barrels of food and toys were collected as well as $400 in cash which went to the purchase of an additional two barrels of food. This food drive will continue throughout the winter.

Fife House 2019

Fife House is Canada’s largest provider of supportive residential programming and housing services for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. Fife House has 190 units serving more than 300 residents, and another 300 clients are supported each year in Fife House’s Homeless Outreach Program. While this is significant, it is estimated that the Greater Toronto Area has 18,000 people living with HIV/AIDS, and these are only those individuals who are aware of their status. This represents approximately 25% of all cases in Canada. Today, Fife House provides 80% of the dedicated supportive housing available to people living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto.

A fully integrated approach to housing and health care, Huntley Transitional Housing Program addresses the complex health and social needs of this highly marginalized client population. The program aims to improve care and outcomes of clients and significantly reduce preventable hospital and shelter stays through the provision of wrap-around, client-centered supports, that increase quality of life and client capacity to live independently in our community.

Noble representatives were in attendance as the Fife House Foundation proudly announced the opening of the Huntley Transitional Housing Program. Located in a newly renovated historic facility on Huntley Street, the program welcomed its first clients in late August, 2019. The Huntley Transitional Housing Program is an innovative approach to providing support for individuals living with HIV/AIDS who are in, or are entering, the City of Toronto’s emergency shelter system. The 20-bed facility provides crucial housing, clinical care and intensive case management supports, focused on the successful transition of clients from shelter living into supportive or permanent housing solutions.

Noble sponsored a third of all in-kind building product donations for this project, including plumbing fixtures and heating and cooling equipment. Recognizing the scope and importance of this project, we partnered with some of our manufacturers — American Standard, Fujitsu and Rheem — to increase product donations and overall level of sponsorship.

Design For Hope 2018

Design for Hope was built on a mission to give back with the goal to help and support a family in need by renovating their home and providing a calm, safe, and functional environment. Led by Stacey Cohen Design and with the help of over 75 trades, vendors, and volunteers, the team will provide a fully redesigned home for a family in need within the local community. Noble is proud to be involved and will be donating plumbing products to help with the renovation.

The project focuses on a family that has experienced hardships and daily challenges and are in need of new hope and a fresh start. The Nikolic family lives in a 1,500 square foot brick bungalow with three bedrooms and one bathroom. Hilary and Mark Nikolic have three boys; the oldest Alex who attends University and their twin boys James and Eric who are 22 and were born autistic and developmentally delayed.

The twins are both non-verbal and the severity of their symptoms have resulted in many damages to their home. Hilary and Mark have spent all their savings and time to ensure that the boys get the care that they need. They’ve had to refinance their home a number of times over the years to pay for services and repairs to keep their home somewhat inhabitable. Both parents had to give up some of their goals to manage the boys and they are only able to spend little time together as a couple. Stacey Cohen Design has started a GoFundMe page with the intention to cover the expenses related to this renovation and to help the Nikolic family pay off their mortgage. The goal is to provide the Nikolic family with a calm, livable and functional home to help instill hope for their future.

Habitat for Humanity 2018

Noble is proud to support the Habitat for Humanity organization through building material product donations.  The donated materials are used to aid in building projects and are also sold through Habitat for Humanity ReStores.  These retail spaces offer high-quality building supplies, home furnishing, appliances, and décor to the general public.

The ReStore is at the heart of Habitat for Humanity’s ability to operate and grow as an organization.  The ReStore is able to sell items to help cover overhead costs. All financial donations then go directly toward home builds. The ReStore also allows for the purchasing of products that may be out of reach for many low-income families.

Ride to Conquer Cancer 2018

Noble has been a proud supporter of this initiative which funds the work of leading cancer research centres like The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.

The Noble ‘Plunger Heads’ team actively participated between 2008 to 2018 with a focused vision on raising awareness about and funding cancer research. With the support of our friends, family and other stakeholders, Noble was one of the largest contributing companies in Canada.

Congratulations to the Team Noble “Plunger Heads” on being inducted into the The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Ride to Conquer Cancer Hall of Fame. In the words of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “Your efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of your fellow citizens are deeply appreciated.”
